Education and Outreach
Our objective of guaranteeing animal protection and welfare cannot be won without adequate education on the animal behaviour and welfare to ensure a “life worth living” and to improve the general wellbeing of animals. Unfortunately education and awareness amongst people in developing countries including Ghana regarding animal welfare is very poor. WACPAW therefore regards education and outreach on animal protection and welfare as an important part of its services. We engage society especially young and students to develop a strong sense of responsibility and care towards animals early in their upbringing. We are on the lookout for animal behaviour and welfare scientists who are willing to volunteer to make a difference by educating and training abattoir operatives, abattoir managers and animal hauliers on how to improve animal welfare.
